Marriage.
A blending...
A union...
A pledge...
An oath...
A promise...
Connection.
Marriage.
A connection of the deepest kind,
Not only between man and woman,
Between anything,
Married to our community,
Married to our work,
Married to our life,
Married to our earth.
Marriage.
Marriage.
A word we need to describe the indescribable,
Something deeper than love,
Something deeper than interest,
A sacred trust.
Home.
Family.
Marriage.
The foundation of anything is marriage;
You can have nothing strong,
Nothing withstanding,
Nothing without marriage.
How fleeting it is to describe,
For it is something that must be felt,
An oath,
A promise,
Quite serious,
They’re real,
Yet we choose to give them meaning.
Explore...
The feeling...
A connection,
Deep,
Of heart and mind,
Loving self,
The inner purpose.
Two meet,
A flash of life.
Something ill defined,
Yet certain.
Heart and mind,
Deeply connected,
The tears roll down your face.
The bond,
Emotion,
A soul so frightened,
So hard to face.
Love so strange,
So tender,
Poetry and song embrace,
The mere words of commonplace,
Excited.
A liberation of heart
Of mind,
Connection,
Yet fear so stark,
Like lightning,
Thunder,
Collapsing.
Collapsing all that was,
That is,
A cocoon,
Freed the butterfly.
How gentle,
How tender,
How sacred.
How fragile we are as humans,
Yet only when we break the mask,
Can we truly see the light.
Trapped,
These walls,
We built so strong,
Ourselves.
Alone constructed,
Alone they stand,
Alone they keep us in.
The fear,
The fear,
The aching pain:
Vulnerable.
Those walls,
Protected,
All that is,
Me,
My soul,
My life.
A heart mind connection,
So deep,
So strong,
Yet careful.
All that is,
Could be swept away,
In an instant,
If we build a home of insolence.
The heart it beats,
As the drums of war,
The anxiety,
The chaos,
The confusion.
The silence.
Within?
Cascading destruction,
Of self,
Trying to encapsulate,
Build a new shell,
To keep the nerve;
So reactive,
So exposed,
Afraid of those,
Who torment.
Yet...
The silence,
It is not there,
The abandonment,
The isolation –
The alienation, feared,
Has failed in culmination.
Instead a heart,
So fragile,
Has met another,
Exposed together.
Two hearts,
Two minds,
Without walls,
Yet stronger than remembered.
Still they work,
To hide away,
To cower and be cornered.
Yet one heart cries,
The other comforts,
The feeling deep inside.
These words,
A cliff,
That leaves an edge,
For one to sit and ponder,
To see the view,
To marry the wonder,
The deepest of creation.
As one sits,
With stress so rich,
The heart at fever pitch,
With doubt and fear,
So persistent,
It sits and talks beside you.
As you gaze,
The ineptitude sets in.
A vista before,
Yet courage evades you.
The walls of comfort,
Built before,
When once discovered,
Those meant to warm,
Were lost,
And undeciphered.
Yet there you stand,
With those who were,
Lost and undeciphered,
Who created a path,
Of truth and love,
That you could finally follow.
The path so fresh,
So pure,
In crest.
There is no guide,
No one around,
With secret,
For your revival.
They paved the way,
Unaware,
Of the opportunity created.
So now you sit,
Motionless.
No more to think,
No more to feel,
A calm,
A breeze encumbers.
Embrace the still,
Evermore,
A chance to rediscover.
In these moments,
Clarity found,
A quiet space,
That only you can enter.
A bond of certitude,
With yourself,
Free from all invasion.
No one can take,
No one can steal,
No one can ever assault.
This bond you forged,
Of heart and mind,
You found,
Can never be broken.
Power,
You feel,
Your mind is freed,
No encroachment of the devil.
The self-oppression,
The tying down,
Of all you are,
And want to be,
Has vanished at your presence.
And so you stand,
You choose to see,
The beauty there before you,
All you are and ever were,
Constantly repeated.
As you jump,
With peace of mind,
Your body itself is lightened,
The path they built,
The moments,
Your choices,
Have come to full fruition,
Wings they grew,
From your cocoon,
And threw you into flight.
As you chose,
To break the walls,
That grew thick within you,
You chose:
To connect;
To family,
To friends,
And to search for one much deeper.
The chance it made,
To feel the truth,
Has come,
And you have taken.
You found,
As you should,
What you knew and felt,
Once you had stopped looking,
Yet of course you looked,
Without eyes, or ears, or physical motion,
You looked with the heart and mind,
The feelings it connected.
And there you find,
In purest sight,
The one that you reflected.
So natural,
A love,
A bond,
Of mother,
The love we can’t take note of.
Marriage it is,
Truth be told,
An incarnation, never old.
Bond of certitude,
The bond you have with child,
With friend,
With family,
With your partner.
The bond so deep,
A miraculous feat,
It flows just as a river.
Its beauty majestic,
Its power respected,
The source of life it is.
This love,
This marriage,
Is like water,
Gentle and ever present.
Poisoned by jealousy,
Poisoned by hate,
And poisoned by one’s own selfishness.
Yet even the impurities,
Bound to happen,
Wash themselves away.
The flow embraced,
No force applied,
Leads one to see,
The truth inside.
The realness,
Pure affection,
A life of love,
A bond,
Of certitude.
